when you blow out yr blender motor, or if you dont have one, get a hex head bit from any hardware store, take in the blade to get a snug fit, put on drill (adjustable is preferred but not as fun) voila! gnarly blender.

also, really want to impress her? use mason jars instead of the played out pitcher

Customer Review: I love this thing!

I picked this mini blender up at Wally World a few weeks ago and have been pleasantly surprised by its power and utility. Haven’t had any problems blending frozen fruit or ice cubes. I suspect that some users aren’t putting enough liquid in, hence the negative reviews, but if you do it right, this thing will work like a charm.

I started out throwing huge chunks of hard-as-rock frozen fruit in this thing, but in hopes of making it last longer, I have a better solution: I make up small tupperware containers of mixed frozen/fresh fruits and defrost them in the fridge (or on the counter if I’m in a hurry) for and hour or two before mixing. Should help prolong the life of your beloved blender, and make it more convenient for those of us who buy fruit in bulk!

All in all, an excellent, cheap kitchen gadget that I highly recommend!

Customer Review: Burned out the motor after 6 months

Another shameless throw-away item that is built not to last. In this age of environmental melt-down, manufacturers have a responsibility to step up and produce lasting goods, not ones like this cheap blender that breaks after 30 uses and ends up in the landfill forever!

My mother had an Oster that lasted 40 years or more - now THAT is manufacturing integrity. (I do not work for Oster.) But I do believe the earth can no longer ingest all the throw-away garbage we are buying and tossing out because this cheap junk is built to break, not to last.

Shame on them for making this junk and shame on us for buying it.

The product has an attractive look. When I ordered this blender I wasn’t sure about Factory Re-conditioned product, but it turned out to be as good as a new one! The negatives of this blender, the spout on the glass pitcher is too small, made it harder to pour drinks. Also, there’s no cord storage as it mentioned.

Customer Review: Does A Great Job - Very Versatile

This little gadget Oster Milkshake Blade Blender Accessory 6670 is worth every penny to acquire and this is the best price I have found on and off line, but don’t let it sit around for only milkshakes and smoothies. It does a great job on whipped cream and other heavy items that need more than the regular Oster Blade.

Try this recipe out for a great dessert:

1 - 4 serving size Orange Jello mixed with 2/3 cup of hot water and cooled for 5 minutes.

1 - 8 oz package Philly Cream Cheese, cut up into chunks

1 cup cottage cheese

2 cups Cool Whip, thawed

1 graham cracker or 10 Nilla Wafers crushed fine

Pour cooled jello and cottage cheese into blender and run on liquefy until smooth. Add cream cheese chunks and blend again. Add Whip Cream and blend on a medium speed or pour into a large bowl and beat with a whisk until very smooth. Pour 1 cup of mixture into bowls, dessert cups, etc. (I use 9 oz disposable solo cups)and garnish with crushed graham cracker or nilla wafers. Chill for four hours and serve with a dollop of Cool Whip on top.

*Hint: to smooth mixture in cups tap cups lightly on counter top before garnishing and chilling.

Customer Review: Powerful and sturdy

I love kitchen tools that perform and have longevity. This blender is well built and is very capable. I’ve used it to blend anything from hardy soups/stews to berry smoothies, ice creams, etc. For nearly a year it’s performed reliably.

The flaw in the design, however, is the blade on the chopper. The metal can chip and bend if used with hard veggies frequently. It’s the weakest link and the only thing that’s malfunctioned since its purchase. As a result I stopped relying on it as a chopper and keep it mostly as a blender. So, it’s a great tool but no, it doesn’t replace the full sized food processor.

Customer Review: Great for purees and smoothies

I was a little worried after reading some of the negative reviews and to be fair, I’ve only owned this for a week or so. But so far, I love it! I use it primarily for making small batches of pureed vegetables (for recipes out of Jessica Seinfeld’s “Deceptively Delicious”) and it blends and purees so easily. I use the chopper attachment to turn the food into a mushy solid, then switch to the beaker/hand blender to finish it off as a puree. The best part is, cleaning is a snap - the blade pops right out of the chopper attachment, so you just clean each part separately (or toss them in the dishwasher) and you can use it again.

Maybe a standard food processor would suit the people who’ve complained of it not holding up…because I think if for light blending/pureeing/mixing, this definitely gets the job done well. I will also say if you’re in tight living quarters, it’s great as this stores very easily - unlike a clunky food processor!

Everything about this product is great…except the leaks. Advertised as great for making smoothies, the blender worked fine for a few months - until it started leaking. It is a mess and there is no way that I know of to fix it myself. Do not buy this for chopping ice or blending smoothies. You will be disappointed.

Crushes ice cubes without blinking. Had a little bit of a problem with strawberries that were frozen completely. Now I run them under a little water for a partial defrost before putting them in. I have not had a problem with cracking, although, perhaps I haven’t owned it long enough. Even if I have the problem later, I will replace it with the same item as it is so good.

Customer Review: So loud, it hurts!

This may be a fine blender; I’ll never know because its maiden voyage (about 30 seconds of blending) cause my ears to ring, and I was literally in pain for several minutes after the blender was off. I don’t think I’m usually very sensitive to noise, but this was ridiculous. I have been using a blender almost every morning, and I’m afraid daily use of this one could cause hearing damage. It’s going back!

This is a great product. I like that it doesn’t take a lot of shelf space and it works wonderfully. The only thing I don’t like is that the motor is a little stinky. I am hoping that the smell goes away after a while.

Customer Review: essential kitchen tool

Hand immersion blenders can be an essential tool if it is made right. If it is easy to use, easy to clean and powerful it will quickly become your favorite thing to use in your kitchen. This IS just such essential kitchen tool!!! Since the blender part is detachable it makes it very easy to clean. And, the actual blender “stick” is not made of plastic it feels sturdy enough to do many tasks…however, not quite enough to crush ice. Frozen fruit in a smoothie is a snap…just do not overload! There is heft in the immersion blender so many tasks can be tackled!

The only bad thing is the placement of the speed adjustments is on top of the stick so when you are adding stuff and need to adjust the speed you need to stop and use both hands…
